Dr. Viraj Mehta, MD, is an Oculoplastic Surgeon at Washington Eye Specialists, who specializes in the diagnosis and management of oculofacial surgery, complex oculofacial reconstruction, orbital and lacrimal surgery, and trauma in both children and adults. In addition, he is trained in minimally invasive aesthetic procedures like Botox, fillers, chemical peels, and lasers, as well as cosmetic surgery including eyelid blepharoplasty and browlifts.
Dr. Mehta was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. He then went on to complete his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He attended Case Western Reserve University for medical school in Cleveland, OH and completed his Internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He finished his residency at Vanderbilt University and his fellowship training in Oculofacial Plastics & Orbital Surgery at the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic Collaborative Program in Minnesota.
Dr. Mehta has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters. He has also presented his research and given talks at various conferences around the country. Dr. Mehta is passionate about patient care, medical education, innovations in healthcare technology, and healthcare policy. Dr. Mehta enjoys traveling, playing basketball and tennis, and spending time with his family.
